Padel World Press - The padel increasingly occupies a larger space in the media and recently the professional player of the World Padel Tour Aday Santana has given an interview to the newspaper 'Marca' where he analyzes his background in the world of the shovel.

And it is that Aday Santana Ferrero takes in his name two last names irremediably related to tennis, a sport in which he competed in lower categories until the 18 years, then, to dedicate himself to tennis teaching until he made the leap to paddle.

«I soon realized that only with my last names would I not win matches. I always liked sports, especially racket sports, and as a child I practiced tennis. I got to dispute some Challenger, but it caught me in adolescence and I ended up losing my way«, Assures the canary in an interview with the journalist David Menayo of 'Marca'.

And it was with 27 years when the player from Las Palmas professionally tried his fortune in the professional circuit - back then Padel Pro Tour- after falling in love with the sport of shoveling. «It was love at first sight. I had heard about him and had seen some video online, but the first time I entered a track and tried to play I knew what I wanted to do, ”he says.

To your 41 years occupies the 37 position of the World Padel Tour ranking in a season 2019 in which it shares track with the legendary Argentine player Godo Díaz. "When I was younger I became more obsessed with the ranking, but over time I learned to go tournament to tournament always with the greatest enthusiasm, ”he says.

An Aday who knows what it is to 'suffer' to be a paddle player and, as he himself admits, he had to invest, economically speaking, to be able to be a professional. «I have been a professional for 14 years and in the first ten I had to invest money to play. In recent years, the increase of sponsors -It's Lotto's image from the past year- and the internationalization of padel have meant that we do now earn money practicing this sport », ends.
